GridSouth Networks offers a variety of dedicated hosting services including dedicated VMware vSphere hosting, dedicated virtual servers, dedicated Web hosting and other dedicated application hosting services. Typically, a dedicated service is defined as a server or group of servers (or other services such as Internet bandwidth) that meet the following criteria:
- The server(s) or service is not shared with anyone else
- The server(s) or service is initially configured and provisioned by the service provider
- The hardware and operating system software needed to provide the core service is owned and managed by the service provider
- The service provider houses the required equipment in one or more data centers
- Customers lease the provided service(s) on a monthly basis
- A Service Agreement defines the type, term and monthly cost of the service provided
- Customers manage and maintain all operating systems once installed
- Customers own, install, configure, manage and maintain all needed applications
- Customers are responsible for all data backup arrangements
- A Service Level Agreement (SLA) defines customer service and support expectations
Dedicated services are configured by GridSouth Networks in the manner agreed to by each customer. Once configurations are completed and tested, the services are turned over to the customer for for ongoing management and use. At that point, GridSouth Networks continues to monitor, maintain and manage the infrastrucutre housing the services but all additional management and application-related responsibilities are now handled by the customer.
